Excerpt from Dark Days Tarot Guidebook by Emily Mundy:
XII. The Hanged Man
The Hanged Man represents a mind that is “hanging” or suspended in a stagnant realm of distorted acuity. The reversed position signifies the imperative need to perceive ourselves from an alternative angle. More effort and care is needed to liberate our minds from this sticky stagnancy. The card upright suggests that life has decelerated for a time to allow the querent to recognize what needs to be changed before commencing into the next stage of life. After pausing and reconnecting to your ambitions and objectives, an investment of time and energy must be made in moving forward.
Suggested prompts:
upright: reconsideration; reassessment; adjustment
right: reconvening; returning
left: stagnancy; disruption
reversed: warped perception; dimorphic thought
