Five of Wands Meaning - Mother Tarot Minor Arcana Card #5

Mother Tarot Deck: Five of Wands | by Wren McMurdo Brignac

The Five of Wands in the Mother Tarot refers to mental health struggles. These might be struggles with integrity and/or vulnerability, or they could be the result of a physical chemical imbalance—likely both.

The tragic results of mental illness are heavy real-life consequences.

Someone with a broken leg, for example, poses a clear opportunity to mend, whereas someone with postpartum depression, for example, might present an array of behaviors that slip sneakily into their daily lives like sand, grinding gears and confidence. Someone with generalized anxiety might function for years in suffering, only to look back over a lifetime of overachieving and perfectionism rather than a life well-lived.

In regard to relationships, the Five of Wands suggests your self-righteousness points to fear, not courage. Own up to errant actions for a smoother path forward.

There is a lot of opportunity in your situation, but it probably doesn’t appear that way. It probably feels like you’re being abused, if not by those around you, then certainly by your own brain. The truth in any case is: this is a time to ask for help. Yes, that’s not what you wish to read. Yes, you will be okay.
